Designed for Memory Care
Developed in consultation with one of America’s leading Alzheimer’s experts, our custom architecture is specifically designed to sustain our residents’ independence, improve their safety, and promote both a positive mood and active sociability. Our unique two-floor design allows residents to transition from one floor to the next as their care requirements change. This allows us to adjust their programs, supervision, and care services based on each person’s individual cognitive level and physical condition. It also allows our residents to connect with friends and neighbors.

Exclusive Focus
The number of assisted living communities in Boston and beyond that specialize exclusively in memory care is small. Rogerson House is one of the few nationwide that offers assisted living with structure and programs specifically designed to enhance the lives of those who need memory care. We chose this direction ourselves many years ago—long before big corporate entities got involved in the field—and we are very proud to be serving this treasured population. We have also received many commendations recognizing our work in this area.
Therapeutic Programming
We provide extensive therapeutic programming. Various activities are offered every day, which we use to personalize each resident’s experience. Our parallel programming is run by our team of care professionals, including art specialists, Fitness First specialists, and music therapists, who focus solely on our residents and day program participants, with both group and one-on-one sessions. We also offer engaging activities from poetry and songwriting to yoga and movement, individualized personal fitness training, a range of discussion groups, intergenerational programs, pet therapy, and gardening year round in our heated greenhouse.

We Are Inclusive
Rogerson House is a welcoming community that promotes an inclusive culture celebrating the individuality of our residents, team members, family, friends, neighbors, and partners. In our staffing, in our policies, and especially in how we welcome and care for our residents, we believe that supporting and drawing on our shared diversity makes us all stronger and more resilient.
Fitness First Program
Fitness First is an innovative fitness program designed for our residents and day program participants. Our two onsite fitness centers are furnished with state-of-the-art exercise equipment designed specifically for seniors. Our program offers one-on-one supervised training opportunities for those in our care to help them maintain and improve their strength, mobility, balance, and flexibility. Our trained staff members collaborate with visiting physical therapists to plan and continue the successes our seniors have enjoyed with their therapists.

Intergenerational Engagement
Rogerson House benefits from graduate-level interns from Boston-area universities studying social work, nursing, physical therapy, art, art therapy, music therapy, and expressive therapies. Engaging with our residents and day program participants, our interns are closely supervised and guided by our executive director, resident services director, and therapists. We’re also lucky to attract warm-hearted volunteers from local, school, and religious organizations to help our residents in the community setting or one-on-one.
Convenient Location
Adjacent to Jamaica Pond and nestled in Boston’s beautiful Emerald Necklace with more than three acres of outdoor space, Rogerson House is an oasis, featuring gardens, walking paths, a gazebo, and a greenhouse. Here our residents and day program participants enjoy a serene setting—indoors and out—while being just minutes from art museums, Symphony Hall, Arnold Arboretum, world-class medical centers, and more. Best of all, our location also makes it easy for family and friends to visit.
