In 1973, Peter joined the Kryptonite Corporation. Kryptonite’s primary focus was on the development, manufacturing, and marketing of bicycle and motorcycle locks to dealers around the country. Peter and his brother, Mike, and their father, Ernest, collaborated on a design of the K-4 bike lock, which became the standard in the industry.
